This side event will explore how SIDS can strategically leverage climate finance to enhance national capacities and build climate-resilient infrastructure. Key topics include pathways for reducing fossil fuel dependence and guiding these regions toward sustainable futures. The discussion will also cover the evolution of power infrastructure in SIDS and feature case studies from countries already undergoing this transition, demonstrating how careful technology selection can help SIDS overcome unique barriers to achieving Net-Zero.

Policy Makers and Government Officials: We host pre-scheduled workshops aimed at teaching policy makers and government officials the key factors involved in the successful deployment of a renewable energy system. Factors like finance, required natural and technical resources, design implementation and international best practices which are foundation elements in securing the future of green energy.
Energy storage systems (ESS) are experiencing rapid growth across the Caribbean, presenting a prime opportunity to gain access to cutting-edge, highly technical information on the latest best practices for ESSs.By mastering the material in this course, you’ll acquire the essential entry-level knowledge to become ESS savvy and ready to participate in the next phase of the renewable energy revolution. Beyond simply storing solar energy for later use, ESSs can enhance grid stability and significantly reduce reliance on fossil fuels, even in the absence of renewable energy sources on the grid.
Dr. Wayne E. Archibald, Executive Director, Green Solutions International SKN Incorporated (GSI), signed an exclusive international partnership agreement with Shawn O’Brien, President and CEO of the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners® (NABCEP®) to establish NABCEP Caribbean, the first regional hub for solar energy training and development throughout the Caribbean region as well as the US Virgin Islands.GSI will serve as NABCEP’s regional partner for the solar energy industry in the Caribbean. Increased access to NABCEP’s PV training programmes and certification will enhance PV human resource capacities and build consumer confidence, leading to greater investment in the industry. NABCEP’s PV Installation Professional (PVIP®) Certification is accredited to the internationally recognised ISO/IEC 17024 by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
